50 degrees south and discover
its hidden secrets
On behalf of Mountford Estate I would like to say how delighted we are to be involved in your 2010 expedition to Campbell Island. We are thrilled that you will be able to enjoy our wines at such a remote and rugged location while you carry out the initial stages of your research. After all, when you complete a day’s work you will more than deserve the opportunity to enjoy a glass or two of a good wine!
Established in 1991, Mountford Estate is a boutique vineyard and winery set in a stunning park-like environment on the steep hillside slopes of the Waipara Valley. The story of Mountford is one of passion, shown simply by tasting our wine. With attention to every detail, the result is an elegant, stylish and unforgettable experience.
Owners, Kathryn Ryan and Kees Zeestraten, winemaker C.P Lin and the entire vineyard and winery team have a single minded focused and commitment to Mountford and the wine which we create. Our philosophy is on detail in the vineyard and extreme canopy management, which is mostly by hand. We utilise traditional methods creating wines with distinction and interest.
Established 20 year-old vineyards enable Mountford to produce Pinot Noir and Chardonnay estate wines, and recent expansions in 2008 of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling vines now set the vineyard at a total of 10 hectares.
We hope you do, as much as we enjoy being part of their creation!
